About Our Team

A.Blanton Massey, J.D., LL.M.

Mediator

Blanton has been a mediator for over 30 years. He received his JD from UVA & his LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown Law School. He has over 1,000 hours of education and training in family law, psychology, mediation, arbitration & negotiation and has mediated more than 1,000 cases, including divorce, custody and family-business matters.

He is an Advanced Practitioner in the Association for Professional Family Mediators, has served as a Consultant with the Academy of Family Mediators and has served as a Mentor with the Va. Supreme Court’s Dept. of Dispute Resolution. He completed the College for Financial Planning’s prerequisites for becoming a Certified Financial Planner®, and previously held that designation. He is Certified for Court-Referred Mediations in all courts by the Virginia Supreme Court, Office of the Executive Secretary.

As a member of our team, his extensive training and experience as a mediator, financial planner and divorce and custody litigator, assure our clients that all aspects of their separation and divorce can be covered. Virginia Business magazine recognized Mr. Massey as one of Virginia’s “Legal Elite” in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Northern Virginia magazine recognized him as a “Top Lawyer.”

Kendra Adams

Mediator

Kendra was raised in Chapin South Carolina and moved to the Fredericksburg area with her husband when he was stationed at Fort Belvoir. She began working at a local family law firm when she was 17 which set her on the path for law school. She completed her BA from Sarah Lawrence College, and spent a year abroad studying international law and human rights law. She has a Master’s of Legal Studies and a Master’s of Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law. In addition to working in family law, she also has experience working in immigration and criminal law. As well as working with Virginia Mediation, Kendra also works alongside her husband, a Chaplain in the U.S. Army Reserves, helping to provide counseling and education on relationship building, connection, and resiliency for military families.
